The Maritime Union of New Zealand has youth delegates at many of our branches. Our youth delegates are actively involved in giving young workers a voice in our Union.
We’re currently building a national youth network and will be holding training opportunities and a National Maritime Youth Seminar in the near future.
To find out about these events or to contact our Youth Reps email communications@munz.org.nz
Our 2021 Youth Delegates are Matt Hayward (Port Chalmers Dunedin Branch) and Shanaya Hunter (Lyttelton Branch).
A MUNZ youth delegation attended the youth, women and indigenous meeting at the Maritime Union of Australia National Conference in Brisbane in March 2016. The following video report was produced by Local 13 member True Saamu.
