Fee Mansell

Fee Mansell is the Mar­itime Union nation­al wom­en’s rep­re­sen­ta­tive 2021.

Fee has worked for KiwiRail-Inter­is­lander as a Cab­in Atten­dant for over ten years.

In the last 5 years she became a ship­board del­e­gate for MUNZ and then pro­gressed to the Welling­ton Branch Exec­u­tive as the Local Women’s Rep in Novem­ber 2018.

Since tak­ing up this task Fee has been involved in a vari­ety of dis­cus­sions includ­ing Nego­ti­a­tions with Kiwirail, High Performance/High Engage­ment (HPHE), dis­ci­pli­nar­ies and almost every­thing to do with the On-Board Ser­vices Depart­ment across the fleet.

“My time as the Women’s Rep so far has empow­ered, edu­cat­ed and encour­aged me to grow as a mem­ber of this Union, there­fore it is my mis­sion to pass on all I have learned and still learn­ing onto all oth­er Union Mem­bers espe­cial­ly our younger mem­bers as they are our future lead­ers.”

In 2020 Fee was elect­ed to become the Nation­al Women’s Rep.

Fee says this was proud moment for her.

“I nev­er ever want­ed to become a del­e­gate in the first place and now here I am sit­ting on the Nation­al Coun­cil for MUNZ.”

She sees her main achieve­ment in her time as a del­e­gate and Women’s Rep is the new Pre­ganan­cy Pol­i­cy with­in KiwiRail to give our preg­nant sea­far­ers more favourable terms and con­di­tions.

At the start of 2021 Fee joined the Women’s Coun­cil for the New Zealand Coun­cil of Trade Unions (NZCTU).

“There is so much work to be done for all of us in the Trade Union Move­ment. I am extreme­ly proud to be part of it, I real­ly want to encour­age every mem­ber to be active­ly involved.”

Fee is cur­rent­ly help­ing organ­ise the MUNZ wom­en’s del­e­ga­tion to attend the 2021 NZCTU Wom­en’s Con­fer­ence.
