Important COVID vaccination information for Port of Tauranga workers

The Government’s latest border order makes Covid-19 vaccination compulsory for some groups of port workers (those subject to the current testing requirements).

The Government’s latest border order makes Covid-19 vaccination compulsory for some groups of port workers (those subject to the current testing requirements).

As a result, the local DHB, in partnership with Ng?ti  Ranginui, will again be offering vaccinations on site to make it easy for port workers to access.

Vaccinations will be available next week (from 16 August) at the Hull Road testing centre and appointments are available 12 noon to 5 pm Monday to Friday.

For the week beginning 23 August, vaccinations will be available at the Sulphur Point testing centre, same opening hours.

Port workers or their employers can make appointments by phoning 022 410 1582.

If these times don’t suit, port workers can make an appointment at one of the DHB’s main vaccination centres at First Avenue or Baypark.  To access a priority appointment at one of these sites, workers should call 027 279 3879.

Whanau of vaccinated port workers are also eligible for vaccinations.  Household members can be vaccinated at the Sulphur Point testing centre (which is outside the Port of Tauranga security gate) or at the public vaccination centres at First Avenue and Baypark. The number for whanau to book priority appointments is 0800 829 000, or they can use the website https://bookmyvaccine.covid19.health.nz/ (port workers’ whanau are in Group 1).

Thanks for your ongoing help to keep port workers, their whanau and our communities safe from Covid-19.
