Maritime Union acknowledges death of Efeso Collins

The Maritime Union of New Zealand has paid tribute to Green MP Fa'anana Efeso Collins who has died in Auckland.

The Mar­itime Union of New Zealand has paid trib­ute to Green MP Fa’anana Efe­so Collins who died this morn­ing in Auck­land after col­laps­ing at a pub­lic event.

Mar­itime Union of New Zealand Nation­al Sec­re­tary Craig Har­ri­son says Efe­so Collins was a strong advo­cate for Pasi­fi­ka and oth­er Auck­land com­mu­ni­ties with a great sense of social jus­tice. 

“His sud­den pass­ing is a great loss to this coun­try of a leader, and we express our thanks for his ser­vice and con­tri­bu­tion to work­ing peo­ple.”

“Our thoughts are with Efeso’s fam­i­ly and friends at this sad time.”
