Memorial Service for T.S.M.V Kaitawa

A memori­al ser­vice will be held to com­mem­or­ate the 50th anniversary of the sink­ing of the col­li­er MV Kait­awa off Cape Reinga on 23 May 1966 with the loss of all 29 crew mem­bers, one of New Zealand’s worst mari­time dis­asters.

The ser­vice is to be held at the Auck­land Sea­farers Centre, 114 Quay Street, 23 May 2016 at 11:00am

Mem­bers past and present, and friends, are wel­come to join your com­rades at the Mari­time Uni­on of New Zea­l­and Auck­land office at 29–31 Anzac Ave at 10:30am to join togeth­er and make our way down to the memori­al ser­vice and lay a wreath com­mem­or­at­ing our lost com­rades.
