It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Murray Sidaway.

It is with deep sad­ness that we acknowl­edge the pass­ing of Mur­ray Sid­away over the week­end. 

Mur­ray was a ded­i­cat­ed, long-stand­ing employ­ee of Cen­tre­Port, hav­ing recent­ly com­plet­ed over 40 years of ser­vice.  He was an expe­ri­enced Crane Oper­a­tor, Strad­dle Dri­ver & Ves­sel Plan­ner, a loy­al Union Del­e­gate, as well as a train­er and men­tor to many at Cen­tre­Port.      

Murray’s pass­ing was unex­pect­ed, and we are all reel­ing from this loss. We will feel his absence great­ly. 

Our thoughts are with Murray’s fam­i­ly at this time. They have asked that we pass on the below details to you, and to let you know that you are wel­come to attend.

  • Thurs­day 31 Octo­ber (after 1700hrs)
    • Poro­poroa­ki (to cel­e­brate his life/ share some yarns and sto­ries with the fam­i­ly)
    • Sid­away res­i­dence: 99 Frey­berg Street, Lyall Bay, Welling­ton, 6022
  • Fri­day 1 Novem­ber, at 1000hrs
    • Funer­al
    • Cock­burn Street Chapel (cor­ner of Cock­burn Street and Onepu Road), Kil­birnie, Welling­ton, 6022
    • Please note that fol­low­ing the funer­al, the bur­ial has been reserved for fam­i­ly only and as such, Murray’s fam­i­ly have asked for this to be respect­ed.
