Call on Svitzer to stop attacking tug workers

Companies like Svitzer are driving a race to the bottom in the tug sector. We know that tug workers and their families are paying the price of aggressive employer tactics like Svitzer’s. Longer hours. Lower pay. More accidents at work. Our global union family won’t stand for this. Especially not when companies like AP Moller-Maersk made a USD $20 billion profit last year — much of it thanks to the hard work and skill of tug workers, dockers and seafarers. It’s time for Svitzer to recognise tug workers’ efforts.

ITF Dockers unite against Putin’s Ukraine invasion

Following last week’s call from transport unions for an immediate ceasefire to the conflict in Ukraine, the global labour movement and international community has stood steadfast in their condemnation of the war and call for peace.

No one is safe until we are all safe

Strengthen our shores. Rebuild our coastal shipping. Sign the petition now.

Aotearoa-New Zealand is an island nation dependent on trade to survive. But because our coastal shipping was deregulated by the Government in the 1990’s, we now rely on multinational shipping companies to carry our goods between our cities and beyond. That’s cost us local jobs and valuable skills, it’s harming our climate by pushing more […]
